::We were guided by 2 apprentice botanists, who taught us about many of the trees that have medicinal uses (e.g. the magnificent Okoume). They charged the 2 of us CFA10,000 for the guided walk. Also of particular interest is the love spell tree (with locks embedded in the trunk) and the orchid cultivation area. This is a special place in the middle of Libreville and I hope it gets protected, as it is a wonderful place to visit, for both tourists and locals. More could be done to advertise its presence and a an inviting coffee shop at the Arboretum offices could be a great asset, especially if the existing buildings were spruced up - the infrastructure has great potential to be an inviting tourist trap :)
